Wishing
Do you wish the world were better?
Let me tell you what to do.
Set a watch upon your actions.
Keep them always straight and true.
Rid your mind of selfish motives.
Let your thoughts be clean and high.
You can make a little Eden of the sphere you occupy.
Do you wish the world were wiser?
Well, suppose you make a start,
By accumulating wisdom in the scrapbook of your heart;
Do not waste one page on folly;
Live to learn, and learn to live.
if you want to give men knowledge,
You must get it, ere you give.
Life is a gift
Today before you think of saying an unkind word, think of someone who can’t speak. before you complain about the taste of your food, think of someone who has nothing to eat.
Before you complain about your husband or wife, think of someone who’s crying out to God for a companion.
Today before you complain about life, think of someone who went too early to heaven. Before you complain about your children, think of someone who desires children but they’re barren.
Before you argue about your dirty house, Someone didn’t clean or sweep, think of the people who are living in the streets.
Before whining about the distance you drive, think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet.
And when you are tired and complain about your job. Think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they had your job.
But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another, remember that not one of us are without wrong doings.
And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down, put a smile on your face and be thankful you’re alive and still around.
Life is a gift
Hari ini, sebelum lisan berkata buruk, bayangkan mereka yang tak mampu berbicara.
Sebelum menghujat cita rasa makanan, pikirkan mereka yang kesulitan mendapatkannya.
Sebelum mencela pasangan hidupmu, bayangkan mereka yang masih mengiba untuk dikaruniai jodoh.
Sebelum bersungut pada kehidupan, pikirkan mereka yang telah meninggal.
Sebelum memarahi ank-anakmu, bayangkan mereka yang sulit mendapatkan keturunan.
Sebelum menggerutu malasnyamembersihkan rumah, bayangkan mereka yang hidup sehari-hari dilorong jalan.
Sebelum mengomel tentang jauhnya perjalanan saat berkendaraan, bayangkan mereka yang berjalan kaki.
Sebelum mengoceh tentang pekerjaanmu, empatilah pada mereka yang menganggur dan berharap bisa memiliki posisi sepertimu.
Sebelum menyalahkan orang lain, ingat-ingatlah bahwa tak satu pun manusia yang hidup tanpa cela.
Dan, janganlah menyerah karena masalah, tapi tersenyum dan berterimakasihlah karena kita masih diizinkan untuk hidup.
Kehidupan adalah anugrah!
